It was entertaining and the audience could actually feel the love and joy between the two characters. The first half the movie was very smooth and fast paced. However, her crying can somewhat be irritating at times. Playing a sweet and understanding wife, she tries to share her husband's sorrow and pain, only to be rejected. Shruti Hassan, as promised, embodies a role that she has never portrayed before. Without him guiding the viewers as to what is happening to Dhanush, one can feel as if Dhanush has inexplicably lost his mind. His supporting friend, played by Siva Karthikeyan, holds the weight of the movie on his shoulder. He pushes himself to embody different personalities all in one movie. Dhanush, the protagonist, does a wonderful job portraying a man split between love and necessity. Moonu is a heart-warming story about a couple and a friend dealing with a mental disorder.

On the whole, "3" is artificial, factually inaccurate, irresponsible, loud & futile attempt. The visualization of auditory hallucination is brilliant.

There are a few bright spots here & there. Pity that such wonderful compositions are wasted by poor picturization. He has done well in background score as well. Parts between Prabhu & Dhanush are interesting. Sunder continues from where he left in "Mayakkam Enna" while Siva tries to ape Shanthanam. Shruthihassan is wasted in unidimensional role in which glycerin has more work to do than herself. Dhanush has tried to showcase what all he can for no reason at all. Stigma is a very difficult challenge to circumvent but irresponsible people like these by making such hedonistic movies are only going to propagate it. With all those factual inaccuracies & fallacies they have made Bipolar Affective Disorder (here they have tried to portray the most rarest of rare type "Ultra ultra rapid cycling BPAD" ) to look one of the most dangerous mental illness one would have & it is better to end one's life rather than getting treated with numerous options available & lead a normal life as any other. With their inadequate knowledge when they handle such sensitive subjects they do more harm than good. What justification does the screenplay has for the lead pair getting married in a discotheque? What hinders makers in doing basic homework of the subject taken before starting a project. The makers seem to have ventured into the movie with idea of making a "different" movie & hence tried to manipulate with the script to include many trivial "novelties" which they thought would make the movie look "different". Right from the first frame till the last there is semblance of all Selvarghavan movies minus the emotional connectivity which used to be so effortlessly generated in his movies. Trying to demonize a disorder like Bipolar Affective Disorder which is one of those disorders which has a very good prognosis is disgraceful. It is stupid & irresponsible on the part of the makers indulging in such appalling disservice to Mental health system by time & again portraying Psychiatric illness in poor light & thus perpetuating stigma. That they have taken recourse to their half-backed knowledge of Psychiatry is despicable. Thanu of V Creations is producing the film, while the makers have roped in Yuvan Shankar Raja to compose the music."3" is nothing but a couple's attempt at feeding the narcissism of the husband, here by couple I meant Dhanush & Aishwarya Dhanush. The siblings, so far, have worked together in multiple movies such as 'Thulluvadho Ilamai', 'Kaadhal Kondein', 'Pudhupettai', and 'Mayakkam Enna'. 'Naane Varuven' marks Dhanush's reunion with his sibling-director after a decade, which doubles the anticipation among movie buffs. It is reported that Dhanush, who has been seen in a variety of unconventional characters, is set to play a dual role, which has both positive and negative shades. Actress Indhuja Ravichandran of 'Bigil' fame has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Dhanush in this thriller. It is reported that the team will kick-start the shooting of the film on Saturday.ĭhanush is seen in a cowboy avatar wearing a hat, green jacket and carrying a stun gun on his shoulder in the poster. Directred by his brother and filmmaker Selvaraghavan, Dhanush's poster for the film is already trending on social media. New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS) Tamil actor Dhanush's first look poster for his upcoming movie 'Naane Varuven' has grabbed everyone's attention.
